Shiny pokemon are hard to come by, and Pokemon Legends Arceus is no exception. However, you can get one for free by completing a request.
How do I start this Request?
Yota gives you the request in Jubilife Village. First, you must have caught a Ponyta and defeated Kleavor. However, once this is completed you can walk up to him, and get his request. The request is called “A Peculiar Ponyta”, and is given the number 19 in your request log. He will tell you about a weird Ponyta, and send you out to look into it.
You will then need to go to the Obsidian Fieldlands, and walk over to the Horseshoe Plains. The best place to land is at the starting camp right at the entrance. Once you go to the flag on the map a cutscene will begin.
Your opportunity to catch Ponyta
The cutscene will show up the shiny Ponyta across a small little pond away from you. You are open to catching the Ponyta however you see fit. Despite this, I would recommend trying to catch it without a battle. Knocking out a pokemon is really easy in this game, and if you knock it out it would be very unfortunate.
Once the Shiny Ponyta is captured you will be able to go back to Jubilife village to collect your reward.
Collecting your reward
When you arrive back and show Yota your Ponyta he is happy, and will give you a small reward. The real reward is the ponyta which you are free to use. Almost all of the requests have pretty bad rewards, but this one is by far one of the coolest!
Getting shiny pokemon in this game is easier as you can see them in the overworld, but a free shiny is something most pokemon fans will love!
