Twelve Most Anticipated Games for 2022

With every new year comes new video game releases. However, 2022 seems like it could be a great year in Video Games. Let’s talk about the twelve that I am looking out for in 2022.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Kirby™ and the Forgotten Land for Nintendo Switch - Nintendo Game Details

One of my favorite series overall is the Kirby and seeing a new Kirby game announced made by day. Kirby and the Forgotten Land is the Kirby game I have been wanting for a while. The game seems completely fresh for the series but has the same charm the series is known for. However, the problem is if the game will meet expectations.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus

I have had a problem with Game Freak not experimenting for a while. However, this game feels like the first time in a long time that Pokemon will innovate. The game doesn’t look like an instant classic, but it is the first big release for me.

I would expect quite a bit of articles written about the game during the dry period of early 2022.

Elden Ring

I am a huge Dark Souls fan, and if I had to guess this would probably be my best game of the year in 2022. From Software has made some of my favorite games of all time, so I am hyped. I am already thinking of new builds and the new lore.

This game is a long time coming, and I am definitely hyped!

Triangle Strategy

Project Triangle Strategy - Who Is Its Composer Akira Senju?

Final Fantasy Tactics is one of my favorite games of my middle school years, and seeing a more modern take on the series is fantastic. The story seems fantastic, and the fact that the developers are already taking feedback is a great sign. However, I am not an RPG fan, and I wonder if this game will get lost in the fold.

Multiversus

While Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl kind of disappointed me I am still excited for this new game. However, I am still a little burned by the series of lukewarm platform fighters that I have played recently. Despite this, I will give it a shot due to the game being free to play.

Cursed to Golf

I do love sports games, and of course, I love Roguelike games. This game combines both in a really interesting way. Even though the roguelike genre has been around for a long time it is great to see new innovative titles. I am shocked that this game is falling under the radar because of how high-quality everything about it seems.

Apico

I have never played a Beekeeping game, so I am interested. I am also more likely to enjoy simulation games than the average person. However, the game seems like it has enough diversity in gameplay to bring anyone in. Despite this, I might be one of the few people who are heavily anticipating this game.

My Friendly Neighborhood

My Friendly Neighborhood is Resident Evil on Sesame Street | PCGamesN

I love the muppets and the characters from Jim Henson’s mind. However, I also love first-person shooters and survival horror games. This is an odd-couple pairing of aesthetics and gameplay, and for that reason, I have to give it a play.

Venba

I saw this game during an indie showcase, and it seemed incredibly unique. The game feels so personal to the creators, and sometimes I really love a game like that. However, this is a game I could definitely see falling through the cracks.

Game Director’s Story

I love simulator games, and I also like games with fun little animals. This game seemed fun and is right up my alley. Company simulators also seem to strike a nerve in a good way with me. I think this game has the depth that I sort of desire in a simulator. However, it isn’t so dense that I get lost in the process of playing.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns

Marvel's Midnight Suns delayed until late 2022 - Polygon

The team behind XCOM is making a Marvel game. I was sold on that premise, but looking into the cast has me more excited. I enjoy that the game is following a group of heroes outside of the normal avenger’s crew.

Darkest Dungeon 2

A classic Roguelike is getting a sequel, and once it is out of early access I will probably play it on day one. I am not an early access kind of guy, so I have been waiting it out. However, it is last because this game could very well not come out in 2022. I love Roguelike, so I will love this game.
