Superheroes and video games go together like peanut butter and jelly. However, the same couple of heroes get game after game made about them. Despite this, so many heroes are prime for a video game treatment.
They may not be as great as Spiderman for the PS4, or the Batman Arkham games, but they will definitely not be the worse ever. I am not counting movie tie-in games, or if the character has a cameo. A Wonder Woman game was announced, so she will be absent from this list.
Ant-Man
Ant-Man is a character that has plenty of cool ways that his power could be used to create unique gameplay. You could do plenty of cool stuff has a small person going through the world. However, the problem is how long this gimmick would be fresh for.
Despite this, the game could be mixed up by having the ability to communicate with ants and lead them to battle or complete puzzles. If they wanted the game to be more diverse they could introduce Wasp as a playable character.
Daredevil
Daredevil is one of the best heroes, and he has a great set of villains. It would be fantastic to go around Hell’s Kitchen as everyone’s favorite attorney. However, the interesting choice would be whether or not the developers could incorporate his blindness into the gameplay. If that can be executed well it could be one of the most unique games ever.
Besides that, he could have crossovers with characters like the Punisher, Spiderman, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. It could be each episode you work with someone else to fight the villain of that arc.
Green Arrow
I am probably the only big Green Arrow fan, but I think he is kind of cool. A lot of superhero games focus on hand-to-hand combat, but having a game based on ranged combat would be fun. Besides that, Green Arrow has a cool set of different gadget arrows that could be used to solve problems.
However, one of the fun spins they could take is having multi-stage boss battles that involve solving some kind of puzzle with your bow, and then a fight where you tackle them head-on.
Black Panther
One of the reasons I want to play a game with this character is to explore an open world Wakanda. Besides that, the character by himself is super cool and could have some interesting stories built around him. People love the character, and the game would sell like crazy
Despite this, the character doesn’t have much of a rogue gallery, and finding a villain to focus on could be a problem. However, this could be solved by creating a villain for this game or borrowing a villain from another character.
Doctor Strange
A multiverse adventure game starring Doctor Strange is all I need to sell to most fans. I love magic characters in video games, and this would be a new spin on the superhero video game. However, making the game work out could be a problem because of how confusing some of the multiverse stuff is.
I would love to see a lot of the cosmic characters appear in the game. Maybe this could be a tie-in with the Guardians of the Galaxy game. Despite this, I would buy this game if it were to come out.
Watchmen
I think a Telltale-style game about the characters in the Watchmen would be fantastic. This could be about the story the graphic novel follows, or it could be about the characters in their prime. Watchmen is a gritty deconstruction of the superhero, and is prime for a story-driven game.
An action game would kind of miss the point of the series, but some kind of adventure game would be cool to play. Another angle would be a character in the world trying to uncover a mystery that involves some of the characters.
Static
Static Shock is one of my favorite shows when I was younger. He was one of the first superheroes that I gained a lot of exposure to. However, he never got a video game while he was in his prime of popularity.
Despite this, he would fit super well into a game. I think it could go in so many ways, and the character isn’t popular enough to have an expectation of what they need to do.
