Best Summer Crops in Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley is an amazing farming simulator that hits the spot for any player. However, in order to do what you want you first need to get quite a bit of money in your pockets. This guide will help you determine the best summer crops in Stardew Valley.

Blueberries

Blueberries are the summer version of the strawberry. Both produce multiple fruits per season, and have great value! Blueberries take 13 days to mature, but you can harvest them 4 times per season. However, each harvest produces around 3 blueberries which sell for 50g. The revenue increases if you fertilize the soil to get higher-quality fruits. I would suggest getting this crop asap in order to generate tons of revenue.

Starfruit

Starfruit generates great value. However, it can only be purchased in the Oasis. Starfruit matures after 13 days, and can only be harvested once. The seed is very expensive at 400g. Despite this, you make a good profit of selling it at 700g at the lowest. If you can brew the starfruit then your revenue will skyrocket. The most valuable product which is the fully aged wine sells for 4500g.

You will likely be unable to access this crop in your first year, but in year 2 it becomes a fantastic resource!

Corn

Corn on the surface level is underwhelming. Corn takes a long 14 days to mature and produces a new corn every 4 days after. However, the crop sells at only 50g on the lowest quality. The crop doesn’t get much better with better quality. However, what makes the crop amazing is that it can grow in both Summer and Fall. This will allow you to generate revenue in the early days of the fall.

Hops

Hops are an interesting crop, and the value you get depends on your farm setup. If you have plenty of kegs then this is a great crop to grow. However, if you are just selling the raw hops then it is not a good idea. Hops take 11 days to mature, and it only sells for 25g each. Another strategy is to use the seed maker to sell the hops starter which is more profitable than the raw hops. A pale ale from the keg sells for 300g minimum which is a worthwhile increase.

Conclusion

Blueberries are the best crop in the season, but I would suggest growing a mix of crops from the list above. If you are more advanced then I would recommend growing a mix of blueberries, corn, and hops. It is a very passive strategy and you will get solid revenue throughout the season.
