Best Spring Crops in Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley is an amazing farming simulator that hits the spot for any player. However, in order to do what you want you first need to get quite a bit of money in your pockets. This guide will help you determine the best spring crops in Stardew Valley.

Strawberries

Strawberries are one of the best crops to grow in general. A strawberry plant takes a quick 8 days to grow but gives you one more strawberry every 4 days after maturing. If you plant it on the first of the season. you will be able to harvest five times during the season. This means you will receive 600g revenue per plant at the lowest quality. However, the catch is that you first purchase them on the 13th during the egg festival. At that point, the profits will be lower. Despite this, I would recommend holding the seeds until Spring Year 2.

Green Beans

The bean starter is only 60g at Pierre’s, but the profits will exceed that. The bean starter takes 10 days to mature but produces additional beans every 3 days. This means that the crop will be producing more income throughout the season. Sadly, a green bean only sells for 40g at the lowest quality. This is a good crop for early game or a mixed farm.

I like this crop. However, if this is the first crop you go into then you are going to not have the scarecrow for a bit. You need a scarecrow when farming. Also, you need it for the spring crop community center.

Cauliflower

The crop sells for 175g base, but the seeds cost 80g. The crop takes 12 days to mature, but the cost is worth it. This means you can get two complete harvests per Spring. It isn’t one of my favorite crops, but it is hard to deny how good it is. It is also necessary for the completion of the community center.

Rhubarb

Rhubarb can only be bought at the Oasis for 100g. The crop matured in 13 days, but you sell it for 220g. It is a good crop you can buy year-round, so it can work in your greenhouse. Once you unlock this you no longer need to grow Cauliflower, as they both fulfill the same niche.

Conclusion

Strawberries are the best crop in the season, but I would suggest growing a mix of crops from the list above. It is more fun that way!
