7 Pokemon that should be added to Pokemon Unite

Pokemon Unite is the new MOBA featuring Pokemon throughout the series history. However, the game lacks a couple of fan favorites. This list will outline 6 pokemon I think should be added! The pokemon are not ranked, as all of them would be fantastic inclusions!

Blaziken

Blaziken is the fire starter of the Hoenn region, and also the 29th most popular pokemon. Hoenn was the starting point for a huge portion of Zillenial pokemon fans and was my entry point to the series. Blaziken is a pokemon that has already been a playable character in numerous pokemon subseries. It was a strange realization that it was not a part of the base roster.

A fire-fighting pokemon translates well to the series as we have seen with Cinderace. However, what could make Blazekin unique is making it purely physical. Blaziken looks like a fighter, and the developers should work around that. Despite this, I think the chances of another Fire Fighting starter being added so soon is unlikely.

Decidueye

Decidueye is the grass starter of the Alolan region, and also the 22nd most popular pokemon. However, Decidueye feels very different from any other grass starter they could add. Decidueye is an archer, and that is a classic archetype in MOBA games.

Decidueye could be a unique ranged attack damage carry. However, the flying abilities could give them a great way to hunt down opponents and plan ganks. None of the Alolan starters are in the game, and Decidueye is a great first choice.

Mimikyu

Mimikyu is a Ghost Fairy pokemon that was first found in the Alolan region and was recently picked as the third favorite pokemon by fans. This is one of the most unique concepts for a pokemon. A pokemon that wears a cloth in order to mimic Pikachu is a very meta concept.

I don’t know how to translate this to the game, but it is a huge fan favorite that should be included. The developers could really play into the change in appearance.

Heracross

No Johto pokemon are currently in the game! I think the best choice for the region’s first ambassador is Heracross. Heracross is a bug fighting type that would fit right in. Heracross is based on a Hercules beetle which serves as inspiration for its amazing strength.

This pokemon could be an interesting support pokemon. It could use tosses and buffs to help his team members rack up kills. Heracross could also be made into a fierce fighter.

Serperior

Serperior is the grass starter of the Unova region. The Unova region only has one representative at the moment. However, Serperior is a great pokemon to join Crustle in the game. Serperior makes sense in the center waiting to help its team in the lanes.

Serperior feels like an assassin. I can imagine Serperior slithering into the lane waiting to attack. However, I struggle to think of a move set for this character. Maybe I am uncreative, but the developers could definitely figure it out.

Luxray

Luxray is an electric pokemon from the Sinnoh region. The Sinnoh remakes will be coming out this winter, but the game is currently light on Sinnoh pokemon. Outside of Garchomp and Lucario, Luxray is one of the most well-loved non-starters in Sinnoh.

The game is currently not shy to electric types, but Luxray feels very different from Pikachu and Zeraora. Luxray is sturdier and could be more of a tank role for the team. I have a feeling that more Sinnoh pokemon will be introduced, and this seems like a great inclusion.

Empoleon

Currently, no Sinnoh starter pokemon is in the game. However, Blastoise will be the next pokemon added, and Greninja is already in the game. This means Water starters are very well represented already. Despite this, I think Empoleon is the best choice for the first Sinnoh starter added to the game.

Infernape seems very similar to a couple of pokemon already in the game. As well, Torterra is a little too similar to Venusaur which is already in the game. Empoleon feels the most unique out of the three.

Despite all of this!

This article will likely become outdated very soon! Gardevoir and Blastoise have recently been announced as the next two pokemon, but the third is unknown. If the third is one of the pokemon mentioned above then I told you so!
