10 SNES Games that should be added to Nintendo Switch Online

The SNES is a classic console, and the Nintendo Switch Online service is a great place to play some of the classics. However, the service is missing several great games. Here is the list of the ten games that should be added soon.

Earthbound

Earthbound is the definition of a cult classic video game. However, the game is notoriously difficult to play legally. Older physical copies of the game can go for hundreds of dollars. Besides that, the only other legal way to play the game is through the Wii U virtual console.

This is a game that I recommend everyone try at least once. Despite this, it can be a hard game to recommend because of how difficult the process of playing it is.

Final Fantasy IV

Final Fantasy IV or Final Fantasy II internationally is one of the best introductions to the series. It is easy to follow along, but deep enough to be engaging to new fans. Because of this, it would be great to play on the go. It was already released portable on the Gameboy Advance.

If this game is released on the system then it should have Final Fantasy V and VI soon after. However, I wouldn’t hold my breath for this game.

Chrono Trigger

Chrono Trigger is another fantastic game that is difficult to play legally. The SNES and the DS remake are both notoriously in demand. However, this game is worth the wait. It is one of the most inventive games that Square ever made.

All of the characters are fun, and the story is super engaging. I am not a big RPG guy, but I recommend this to anyone who is on the fence.

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

Super Mario RPG is fantastic, and I think it gets passed over some of the other fantastic RPGs on this console. However, this game can be even more mechanically interesting than any that came before. This game set the foundations of Paper Mario and the Mario & Luigi RPG series.

The problem with this could be dealing with Square to get the rights to the game.

Mortal Kombat 2

This game is on so many consoles, and I am surprised that they haven’t just released it on the console. It is a great game, and the console needs some more fighting games. Despite this, I would say this game is worth playing even for non-fighting game fans.

NBA Jam

I love Basketball, and NBA Jam is one of the best sports games ever made. It is so fun and has an all-star rost of legends. A game where you can play as Karl Malone, Patrick Ewing, Shaquille O’Neal, Isiah Thomas, and Scottie Pippen feels like a dream.

The problem would be securing the rights to the game. However, this is one of the few sports games everyone can play and love.

Harvest Moon

The success of Stardew Valley has shown that the world loves farming simulators. Harvest Moon is the series that Stardew Valley heavily is inspired by. However, this game is still fun for being the first in the series. Besides that, sometimes you just want something new or old. The other option is Harvest Moon 64 which is less likely.

Final Fight

Final Fight is a classic game that has gotten overlooked through the passage of time. Mike Hagger and other characters that first appear in this game pop up in Capcom crossover games all the time. However, the game didn’t age the best, but I do recommend the game.

Super Bomberman

Super Bomberman is a fun game that I think would be a fun casual game to play with friends and family. The SNES kind of lacks that, and this would be a great inclusion to the roster. However, this wouldn’t be the first Bomberman game on the console, and it would likely cut into the game.

Street Fighter Alpha 2

Street Fighter Alpha 2 is one of the least popular Street Fighter games, but it would still be fun to play it on the go. A lot of the fun of the Switch is that you can play it on the go. However, this game might be a little too intense to play on the go.
