10 Sega Genesis Games that need to be on Nintendo Switch

The Sega Genesis is a classic console, and the Nintendo Switch Online service is a great place to play some of the classics. However, the service is missing several great games. Here is the list of the ten games that should be added soon.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3

Sonic the Hedgehog is the flagship series of Sega and is one of the most iconic characters in gaming. However, the only Sonic game currently available as a part of the NSO is Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

The third Sonic the Hedgehog game is arguably the best of the original three. However, this game is remarkably absent from the game.

Rocket Knight Adventures

This is an incredibly fun game that I don’t hear talked about quite a bit. However, it is a game that would work well on the Switch. Besides that, some of the other games from the creator such as Contra are on the system already. Despite this, I think the game is still unique.

Pulseman

Pulseman - Wikipedia

Pulseman is the Sega Genesis game created by Game Freak who are the creators of Pokemon. I think this is a great part of gaming history that goes undercover. While not a spectacular game I still like the novelty of being able to play more Game Freak games on the Switch.

Lemmings

Lemmings for Genesis (1992) - MobyGames

Lemmings is pretty fun, and I think it works pretty well as a mobile game. The gameplay has been rehashed since it has been released, and I think that is a testament to a good idea. However, the game isn’t a must-play.

Kid Chameleon

This game is the classic plot of a kid getting abducted into a virtual reality world. With the recent interest in the world of the metaverse and virtual reality, the game is weirdly relevant. Besides that, it is a fun platforming game, and I think it is still pretty solid.

Vectorman

Vectorman feels like a product of the 90s. CGI became easier to do, and they went crazy with 3D effects. I do really love the gameplay, and the design is still really cool. The game is underrated, and I think it is because it looks dated. The NSO is a great way to reintroduce games to new fans. However, I will still always recommend this game.

Comix Zone

Comix Zone

This game is hard as nails and I loved it. The art style for this game is so unique, and I don’t think another game like this exists. However, it can sometimes be a hard game to recommend because of how hard it is. I rarely was able to beat the first level of this game. However, if I were to replay it on the NSO I would probably use save states.

Phantasy Star II

Phantasy Star II - Wikipedia

I am not a big fan of JRPGS, but sometimes I get a feeling that I want to play one. Phantasy Star II was one of the few on the system. I played the beginning of it a couple of years back, and I really liked it. Nintendo Fans tend to like JRPGs quite a bit, and I think this would be a good game for them.

Sonic the Hedgehog

Amazon.com: Sonic the Hedgehog : Unknown: Video Games

The original Sonic the Hedgehog is probably the first game people think of when the Genesis is brought up. However, the game is absent from the services. Despite this, I think this game is mandatory for the offerings to feel complete. I love the game, and it feels so great to play even to this day.

Sonic Spinball

Sonic Spinball - Wikipedia

Pinball games feel fairly niche, but I think they are very fun to play. The worst pinball games tend to at least be competent. Sonic Spinball is a good game to bridge the gap between pinball fans, and the general gaming public.
